April was originally declared Access to Justice month by former Arizona State Governor, Janet Napolitano in 2005. Since then, the month of April has been long recognized for celebrating and bringing awareness to those who work in legal aid and provide equal access to the justice system for all regardless of age, income level, gender or race.
This past April 2011, Governor Jan K. Brewer issued a proclamation celebrating Access to Justice and the 10th year of the Equal Justice Campaign law firms and individual attorneys who come together to raise support for legal aid assistance in Arizona. View Governor Brewer’s proclamation here.
